You won’t need to place a complicated special order if you want to enjoy Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan’s favorite drink at the coffee chain.

“My favorite go-to drink at Starbucks is the Doppio Espresso Macchiato with some hot milk on the side,” Narasimhan told Fortune last month.

Narasimhan said in the interview that the drink reminded him of the coffee he used to have in India. The 56-year-old executive was born and raised in Pune, a city in southwestern India. He moved to the US in the early 1990s to study and work there.

“Skim milk, preferably. It’s a way for me to replicate the taste of South Indian coffee here in the US,” said Narasimhan.

Narasimhan’s favorite beverage isn’t that expensive. The cup of hot coffee would set you back by around $3, depending on which state you purchase the drink from.

Narasimhan was named CEO of Starbucks in September 2022 by former CEO Howard Schultz. He went on to take the reins of the coffee chain in March.

Narasimhan said he spent six months working as a barista in stores when he first took over the helm at Starbucks. He said he injured himself working as a barista when he burned his hand on cheese from a sandwich, per a September report from The Wall Street Journal.

Representatives for Starbucks did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular business hours.
