Donald Trump is once again being accused of throwing things in a fit of rage, but this time it’s by attorney Roberta Kaplan.

The attorney — well known for representing writer E. Jean Carroll against Trump — claimed that during a deposition at Mar-a-Lago on a separate case involving a company called ACN, Trump got so upset that his lawyer offered the attorney and her team lunch that he threw documents “across the table.” He also “yelled” at his attorney, Alina Habba, about it, Kaplan said.

“He was so mad at Alina,” Kaplan said on an episode of “George Conway Explains it All (to Sarah Longwell),” a podcast hosted by attorney and Trump critic George Conway.

Kaplan explained that the former president was “irked” during a deposition for a case on multilevel marketing company ACN, which sold videophones in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Plaintiffs, represented by Kaplan, are accusing Trump of promoting ACN and the videophone on his show “Celebrity Apprentice” while not disclosing that he was getting paid.

After a while, Kaplan said she told Trump they would be having a lunch break, which he disagreed with because he wanted to get the deposition done. According to Kaplan, Trump asked her, “‘Well, you’re here in Mar-a-Lago. What do you think you’re going to do for lunch? Where are you going to get lunch?'”

“And so I said to him, ‘well, you know, I raised this question with your attorneys yesterday, sir, and they graciously offered to provide us with lunch.'” Kaplan said. “At which point there was a huge pile of documents exhibits sitting in front of him, and he took the pile, and he just threw it across the table and stormed out of the room.”

Habba and a representative for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Kaplan’s allegations follow another throwing story about the former president told by his White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson.

Hutchinson, who worked under Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows between March 2020 and the end of the Trump administration, said multiple times that he had launched food at walls whenever he was mad — for example, when he learned Bill Barr said there was no widespread election fraud during the 2020 election. At that time, Hutchinson said she came into a room after the president and witnessed “ketchup dripping down the wall and there was a shattered porcelain plate on the floor.”

“Sometimes it would happen once or twice a week, sometimes more. Sometimes there’d be a week or so lull, but then there would be a bad news story,” Hutchinson said in a “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” interview in October, referring to Trump’s chucking habits. “But it wasn’t just launching the food and the plates and the porcelain at the wall. It was sometimes just flipping the tablecloth,” she added.

In her podcast appearance, Kaplan also said once the deposition ended, Trump dismissed her — off the record — by saying, “See you next Tuesday” — a euphemism used to refer to a derogatory word indicating female genitalia.

Kaplan said she was confused because she and Trump were supposed to meet on a Wednesday. She said she didn’t learn what it meant until after she left and her team informed her.

“They tell me, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God,’ thank God I didn’t know because had I known, I for sure would have gotten angry. There’s no question I would have gotten angry,” Kaplan said.
