Ripple Prime will provide Brevan Howard funds with multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing across traditional and digital markets under an expanded relationship. The mandate once again extends Ripple’s institutional services reach, which is good news for XRP holders.
Ripple announces that the partnership and growing demand from top-tier investment managers for prime brokerage that covers traditional and digital markets within what the company calls a regulated, enterprise-grade framework. And Brevan Howard itself is a global alternative investment manager with $35 billion in assets under management and around 1,000 team members.
The relationship also has an earlier financial link. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025. Institutional infrastructure decisions increasingly involve the practical questions of custody, execution, and financing, as reflected in institutional custody and execution.

What Will Ripple Prime Provide?
The confirmed scope is multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing for Brevan Howard funds. The investment manager will have access to services spanning asset classes and products through Ripple Prime’s unified platform, which Ripple says is designed to improve capital efficiency and operational simplicity.
As of today, the announcement has yet to give any specific asset classes, participating funds, fees, transaction volumes, or implementation timetable, leaving the mandate’s scale and operational details unquantified.
Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said: “There are few firms equipped to provide the next generation of prime services that sophisticated investors expect, and Brevan Howard’s trust in Ripple Prime is recognition of our strong competitive position and cross-asset capabilities.”
Ripple says it has more than 85 licenses and offers payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury-management solutions. Its corporate description identifies RLUSD and XRP as assets underpinning broader capabilities, but the Brevan Howard announcement does not say either asset is being used by the funds under this agreement.

A News of Platform Expansion, Not an XRP Catalyst by Itself
The business proposition is consolidation: access to prime services across traditional and digital markets through one platform. Brevan Howard Group COO Alan McGroarty said: “Ripple has built a differentiated platform that we expect will provide our investment teams with increased operational ease and capital efficiency.” That is the firm’s stated expectation, not a disclosed measure of savings or performance.
McGroarty also pointed to the increasing connection between digital and traditional markets and the need for institutional-quality infrastructure. Ripple’s announcement frames the agreement as a deepening of an existing relationship, building on the 2025 investment.
The distinction matters for XRP holders assessing the commercial news. A financial institution’s use of Ripple’s brokerage platform can broaden the company’s institutional footprint, but platform adoption alone does not demonstrate that XRP is required for brokerage, clearing, or financing, nor that the token will capture value from those services.
Ripple’s regulated, enterprise-grade framing and its stated count of more than 85 licenses provide context for its institutional strategy. Ripple has now expanded its institutional prime brokerage relationship with a major alternative investment manager.
