The six individual sneakers were all worn by Jordan during the game-clinching NBA finals in the 1990s.

During his career, the basketball superstar went to the NBA Finals six times and won each time.

The set of winning sneakers include Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997), and Air Jordan XIV (1998).

The sale included signed limited photographs of the basketball legend celebrating during four of the victorious finals, Forbes reports. The photos, taken by Bill Smith, were taken after the 1992, 1993, 1996, and 1998 NBA Finals.

Sotheby’s Auction House called the set the “most valuable and signification collection” of Jordans ever put on the market.

“The Dynasty Collection is the sole-defining ‘holy grail’ of sneaker collecting,” said Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s head of streetwear and modern collectibles, per Business Insider’s Matthew Kish. “They check all of the boxes that a collector wants: championship history, Hall of Fame association, and style.”

Sotheby's this week will offer a collection of championship game-worn Air Jordans for sale.

Alongside six NBA championships, Jordan’s superlative career included six Finals MVPs, five league MVPs, and two Olympic Gold Medals.

In 2022, Sotheby’s broke a different record for another piece of Jordan memorabilia, when his 1998 ‘Last Dance’ NBA Finals Jersey for $10.1M. This month’s trainer sale marks the second-most expensive sale of Jordan game memorabilia.

Michael Jordan is considered the greatest NBA player of all time. He’s also the richest former professional athlete in the world.

Since retiring in 2003, he has built a lucrative career and uses his wealth for philanthropy.

Michael Jordan’s fortune is estimated to be worth of $2 billion, despite making less than $100 million as the NBA’s greatest player.

His business ventures include selling his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets for a huge profit after buying the club in 2010.

The Dynasty Collection will be viewable in Dubai through March 3.

Business Insider contacted Sotheby’s for comment.
