    • In the last decade, A24 has become one of the best-known movie studios in Hollywood.
    • A24 has eight dated movies and another 10 that are set to be released at some point in 2026.
    • “The Drama,” “Mother Mary,” and “The Moment” are some of the company’s most anticipated releases.

When you think A24, you think of “Moonlight,” “Lady Bird,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Marty Supreme,” “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” and “Hereditary.”

In other words, you think of good movies.

Since its inception as an indie movie distributor in 2012, A24 has been synonymous with a certain type of film (you might call them “cool”). Over a decade later, with two best picture wins to its name, that still rings true.

It’s shaping up to be a busy year for A24, which both produces films in-house and acquires films to distribute.

From a mockumentary starring Charli XCX to a Robert Pattinson/Zendaya team-up and an Anthony Bourdain biopic, here’s what you can expect from A24 this year.

    “The Moment” — January 30

    A24

Charli XCX will play a fictionalized version of herself undertaking the “Brat” tour in “The Moment,” a mockumentary directed by Aidan Zamiri and “based on an original idea” by XCX.

Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård, Kylie Jenner, Rish Shah, and Rachel Sennott also star.

    “Pillion” — February 6

Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melton costar in “Pillion,” a romantic black comedy film based on the novel “Box Hill.”

In it, Melton plays a shy young man drawn to Ray (Skarsgård), a biker who is only interested in a BDSM relationship.

“How to Make a Killing” — February 20

    “How to Make a Killing.”

    A24

“How to Make a Killing” is director John Patton Ford’s follow-up to “Emily the Criminal.”

It stars Glen Powell as Becket Redfellow, a man who’s been disowned by his obscenely wealthy birth family. He decides to kill all of the cousins standing in the way of his inheritance.

Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, and Topher Grace also star.

    “Undertone” — March 13

    undertone

    “Undertone.”

    A24

“Undertone” is a horror film starring Nina Kiri as a podcaster who’s terrorized by paranormal recordings sent to her show. Kiri’s character, Evy, is the only person shown on screen; every other character is voice-only.

    “The Drama” — April 3

    A24

The first of three Zendaya/Pattinson cinematic collaborations this year is “The Drama,” directed by Kristoffer Borgli (“Dream Scenario,” “Sick of Myself”).

The film’s logline reads: “A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails.”

Also starring are Zoë Winters, Alana Haim, and Mamoudou Athie.

    “Mother Mary” — April 24

    A24

Director David Lowery returns to the screen with “Mother Mary,” a tale in which “iconic pop star Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance,” and drama ensues.

The film also stars Hunter Schafer, Sian Clifford, FKA Twigs, and Kaia Gerber.

    “The Backrooms” — Summer 2026

If you haven’t heard of “Backrooms,” you haven’t been on the creepypasta side of the internet.

This horror film is based on a series of short films directed by Kane Parsons (known online as Kane Pixels). The plot is being kept under wraps, but the film will star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Avan Jogia, Mark Duplass, Lukita Maxwell, and Finn Bennett.

“The Death of Robin Hood” — TBD

It’s set to premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January.

Adria Arjona stars in “Onslaught” as a “mother living in a trailer park [who] tries to protect her loved ones from a threat that has escaped from a secret military base, while mercenaries try to contain it,” per its description.

Stevens plays a character known only as “German Scientist.” It also stars Michael Biehn, Drew Starkey, Rebecca Hall (another Wingard favorite), and Alex Pereira.

Eisenberg was announced to be directing a musical by Deadline in November 2024.

It’s said to follow “a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical” while working with a “strong-willed and enigmatic director” in a community theater production, Deadline reported.

It’s set to star Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti as the shy woman and director, respectively, along with Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Milligan, and Lilli Cooper.
