Stellantis has become the latest automaker to crack down on remote work.

The Jeep and Ram owner has told all US employees they must come into the office five days a week from March 30, according to an internal email to employees and internal guidelines seen by Business Insider.

Directors and above will be required to be on-site five days a week from February 16, according to an email sent by Stellantis CFO Joao Laranjo on Friday. It states that the decision will improve customer satisfaction, “strengthen our culture of innovation,” and create more opportunities for mentorship and skill development.

A set of guidelines entitled “Back Together We Win,” sent with the email, describes the five-day-a-week RTO as an “enterprise-wide initiative” that will apply to all employees in all regions.

It notes that timings will vary by country as some regions will require “additional capacity for their facilities to accommodate their workforce.”

“Under new guidelines, U.S. employees will transition to a fully onsite schedule over the next two months to further strengthen alignment, teamwork, and hands-on engagement with Stellantis vehicles and technologies,” a Stellantis spokesperson told Business Insider. “This announcement is confirmation that bringing teams together to build stronger connections is a competitive necessity.”

Stellantis told US employees they needed to be in the office three to five days last March.
