MILPITAS, Calif. & MUNICH – SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NASDAQ:), known for its smart energy technology, has announced a strategic investment and partnership with German software startup AMPEERS ENERGY. Together, they aim to provide comprehensive photovoltaic tenant electricity solutions to the real estate sector in Germany and Austria.

This collaboration is set to offer real estate companies a complete package for achieving a climate-neutral building portfolio. The package includes planning, installation, and financing of solar and storage generation, tenant electricity billing, EV charging infrastructure, and new heating technologies.

SolarEdge’s advanced solar technology features, which are particularly suited to multi-dwelling buildings with limited roof space, are expected to play a crucial role in this initiative.

The move by SolarEdge comes as a response to legislative changes in Germany’s tenant electricity models and represents an opportunity to expand into the European multi-dwelling market. Zvi Lando, CEO of SolarEdge, highlighted the importance of this partnership in increasing access to solar energy for the significant number of German residents living in multi-dwelling buildings.

Dr. Karsten Schmidt, CEO and co-founder of AMPEERS ENERGY, emphasized the collaborative approach of combining technology, software, and services to provide a scalable PV tenant electricity solution as part of a broader carbon strategy.

The investment is pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, with expectations to finalize in the first half of 2024.

AMPEERS ENERGY is recognized for assisting housing companies in rapidly achieving a carbon-neutral portfolio while maintaining economic viability. Its software-as-a-service platform manages the entire decarbonization process, from emissions analysis to system installation and ongoing management.

SolarEdge continues to innovate in smart energy solutions, addressing various energy market segments with its products and services.
