    India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 1.16% By Investing.com

    Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

    At the close in NSE, the added 1.16%, while the index gained 1.17%.

    The best performers of the session on the were Bharat Electronics Ltd (NS:), which rose 5.41% or 15.50 points to trade at 301.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:) added 4.48% or 130.70 points to end at 3,046.25 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:) was up 4.24% or 168.30 points to 4,139.65 in late trade.

    The worst performers of the session were SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.79% or 29.25 points to trade at 1,603.95 at the close. Titan Company Ltd (NS:) declined 1.65% or 53.20 points to end at 3,177.05 and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) was down 1.19% or 8.55 points to 708.70.

    The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which rose 4.24% to 4,140.00, Infosys Ltd (BO:) which was up 4.06% to settle at 1,825.00 and Wipro Ltd (BO:) which gained 3.97% to close at 565.25.

    The worst performers were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.52% to 3,184.00 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 0.92% to settle at 1,080.00 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:) which was down 0.23% to 2,509.25 at the close.

    Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 2022 to 439 and 123 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2847 rose and 942 declined, while 89 ended unchanged.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 8.22% to 14.80.

    Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.54% or 14.80 to $2,734.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.47% or 1.06 to hit $70.93 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.13 to trade at $74.40 a barrel.

    USD/INR was up 0.20% to 84.28, while EUR/INR fell 1.37% to 90.68.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.39% at 104.76.
