    U.S. stocks mixed at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.12% By Investing.com

    Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

    At the close in NYSE, the rose 0.12% to hit a new all time high, while the index added 0.11%, and the index fell 0.12%.

    The best performers of the session on the were 3M Company (NYSE:), which rose 1.42% or 1.48 points to trade at 106.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) added 1.14% or 1.38 points to end at 122.36 and Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:) was up 1.01% or 0.42 points to 41.96 in late trade.

    The worst performers of the session were Apple Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 1.06% or 1.83 points to trade at 171.48 at the close. Walmart Inc (NYSE:) declined 0.91% or 0.55 points to end at 60.17 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 0.69% or 1.98 points to 284.32.

    The top performers on the S&P 500 were Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE:) which rose 6.28% to 154.15, The AES Corporation (NYSE:) which was up 3.94% to settle at 17.93 and Boston Properties Inc (NYSE:) which gained 3.42% to close at 65.31.

    The worst performers were Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 4.94% to 16.34 in late trade, Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 3.64% to settle at 106.56 and ON Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 2.72% to 73.55 at the close.

    The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Avalo Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 357.89% to 21.75, Biodexa Pharmaceuticals PLC DRC (NASDAQ:) which was up 88.59% to settle at 1.62 and CERo Therapeutics Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 88.34% to close at 3.07.

    The worst performers were Primech Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 66.75% to 1.29 in late trade, Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp (NASDAQ:) which lost 43.10% to settle at 0.19 and Gamida Cell Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 39.02% to 0.04 at the close.

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 0 to 0; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 0 fell and 0 advanced.

    Shares in Walt Disney Company (NYSE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.14% or 1.38 to 122.36. Shares in Tonix Pharmaceuticals Holding Corp (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 43.10% or 0.14 to 0.19. Shares in Gamida Cell Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 39.02% or 0.02 to 0.04.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.01.

    Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.90% or 42.10 to $2,254.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.16% or 1.76 to hit $83.11 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $86.99 a barrel.

    EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while USD/JPY fell 0.01% to 151.35.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 104.27.
