GOP Lawmaker Said He Won’t Appear on ‘Fox & Friends’ Because of Host

A high-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives said he’s no longer making appearances “Fox & Friends” because one of its hosts has been critical of the GOP’s investigation into President Joe Biden.

Republican Rep. James Comer, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, made the comments Tuesday evening in an interview with Newsmax’s Eric Bolling after the host mentioned his “concern is when the media, especially the conservative media, starts siding with the Bidens.”

Bolling specifically highlighted a comment made by Doocy on the show Monday morning where he mentioned his skepticism regarding allegations from Comer and the Republican Party that Biden’s committed an impeachable offense.

“They’ve connected the dots, the Department of Justice did on Hunter, but they have not shown where Joe Biden, you know, did anything illegally,” Doocy said.

In response, Comer noted he’s fully quit appearing on Doocy’s show.

“He’s had that position from the very beginning. I’ve quit going on ‘Fox and Friends’ because of Doocy, you know?” Comer said. “I mean, he’s the one guy on Fox that’s been very critical of the investigation.”

Comer, who heads the committee leading the Biden investigation, said he still believes the court of public opinion is on his side.

“At the end of the day, he’s entitled to his opinion, but I don’t think the average viewer of Fox News agrees with Doocy one bit.”

Fox representatives did not respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.

The House is scheduled to officially vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry into Biden on Wednesday evening, where at least one GOP member is expected to vote against it: outgoing Rep. Ken Buck.

In recent months, Buck has said there wasn’t any evidence to support the claim Biden committed a “high crime or misdemeanor.”
