Ripple Prime announced brokerage, clearing, and financing services for funds managed by Brevan Howard, an investment group with approximately $35 billion under management. But that figure describes the group’s assets, not capital committed to XRP.

Standard Chartered launched institutional custody for RLUSD issued on the XRP Ledger, while DriveWealth announced plans to integrate RLUSD on the ledger for settlement in Europe before a planned U.S. expansion. Meritz Securities partnered with Ripple to explore custody and tokenization, and Ripple Prime also launched institutional access to perpetual swaps across more than 100 reference markets.

Those developments matter to Ripple’s commercial reach, but their connection to XRP varies. Custody and planned settlement focused on RLUSD, while brokerage and financing arrangements do not establish how much XRP institutions need to hold or trade.

Even activity on the XRP Ledger does not translate one-for-one into XRP buying. The report cites a standard transaction fee of 0.00001 XRP, a small amount that means greater stablecoin use can generate ledger activity without requiring institutions to accumulate a comparable value of the native token.

Will XRP Price Benefit?

The central investment question is whether Ripple’s business growth creates sustained demand for XRP itself. That depends on the role the token plays in institutional activity, not simply the number of partnerships or services associated with Ripple.

RLUSD custody gives institutions a way to hold Ripple’s stablecoin, and the stablecoin may also serve as collateral in institutional trading. These uses can expand Ripple’s financial infrastructure while leaving clients without a need to hold significant XRP balances.

A more direct demand channel would emerge if institutions used XRP to transfer value between currencies or provide trading liquidity. The scale of that activity-and the XRP balances participants retain to support it-would matter more to token valuation than the headline count of Ripple announcements.
