Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were CyberAgent Inc (TYO:), which rose 4.95% or 41.90 points to trade at 888.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (TYO:) added 3.14% or 16.00 points to end at 526.00 and Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (TYO:) was up 3.06% or 126.00 points to 4,237.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Advantest Corp. (TYO:), which fell 4.33% or 207.00 points to trade at 4,570.00 at the close. NEC Corp. (TYO:) declined 2.96% or 247.00 points to end at 8,087.00 and Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 2.02% or 43.50 points to 2,113.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.13% or 0.87 to $76.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.26% or 1.03 to hit $80.93 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 3.75 to trade at $1,996.55 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.37% to 148.97, while EUR/JPY fell 0.17% to 162.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 103.52.
