A selloff across riskier asset classes has dragged Bitcoin down close to the $76,000 mark, triggering sharp losses across nearly every major crypto.
Even with the market pullback, momentum around U.S. crypto regulation continues to build, with analysts looking towards the passing of the CLARITY Act later this year for the long-demanded regulatory clarity to appear in the U.S.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin dominance has been trending lower since summer. These subtle landscape shifts position high-utility altcoins such as XRP, Solana, and Hyperliquid, and newer Bitcoin Layer-2 ecosystems positioned to dominate the next bull run.
XRP (XRP): Ripple’s Potential SWIFT Killer Sets Sights on $5
XRP ($XRP) remains the largest cryptocurrency focused on payments, boasting a market capitalization above $97 billion and a reputation for fast, low-cost cross-border transfers.
Ripple developed the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to overhaul global payment infrastructure for banks and financial institutions by providing a blockchain alternative to legacy systems like SWIFT.
Prominent international bodies, including the United Nations Capital Development Fund and the White House, have touted the effectiveness of XRP, further strengthening XRP’s global reputation.
Following a landmark legal win last year that ended a five-year case brought by the former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, XRP rallied to a fresh all-time high of $3.65 in mid-2025. Broader market weakness has since weighed on price, with the token dropping 56% and now trading near $1.59.
A key recent development was the approval of spot XRP exchange-traded funds in the U.S., opening the door for institutional and retail investors to gain regulated exposure.
As more ETF products roll out and regulatory clarity improves, these factors could provide meaningful upside momentum, with XRP potentially targeting the $5 level in the second quarter.
Solana (SOL): Ethereum’s Biggest Rival to Surge Soon?
Solana ($SOL) stands as the largest smart contract platform outside Ethereum. Known for its speed and cost efficiency, the network supports roughly $7.3 billion in total value locked, while SOL’s market cap exceeds $55 billion.
Currently trading around $97, SOL sits well below its 30-day moving average while its relative strength index (RSI) is hovering near 26, indicating oversold conditions have given it a massively discounted price.
A bullish flag pattern forming at the end of 2025 hints at a potentially explosive rebound imminent.
A sustained breakout above resistance near $200 and $275 could open the door for Solana to reclaim and surpass its previous all-time high of $293.31, with a move beyond $300 possible before the end of the second quarter.
Beyond price action, Solana is emerging as a key hub for real-world asset tokenization, a segment drawing increasing interest from institutional players. Asset managers, including BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, have already leveraged the network to launch tokenized products.
Hyperliquid: A Decentralized Exchange Powering the Next Trading Wave
Hyperliquid ($HYPE) is a DEX that operates on its own purpose-built Layer-1 blockchain, with a focus on transparency, high throughput, and true self-custody. These features have gained renewed importance in the aftermath of the FTX incident.
The platform combines low fees and rapid execution with advanced trading tools like perpetual futures, effectively blending the strengths of decentralized exchanges with the functionality traders expect from centralized venues.
From early April to late May last year, HYPE climbed from around $10 to $40. Multiple cup-and-handle formations formed through the rally, indicating sustained accumulation by larger investors. A subsequent pullback between June and mid-September aligns with an expanding triangle pattern, which often precedes volatility.
In the last fortnight, Hyperliquid has blown up by 58% and trades at $33. The surge appears to follow on from a bullish flag formed in Q4, 2025. Prolonged bullish conditions could propel the move toward $100 by summer.
Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER): A Bitcoin Layer-2 With Meme Origins and Real Utility
Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is a Bitcoin Layer-2 solution designed to dramatically improve transaction speed, reduce fees, and unlock advanced smart contract capabilities on the Bitcoin network.
