Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.09% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 1.09%, while the index lost 0.86%, and the index lost 1.52%.

The best performers of the session on the were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which rose 2.53% or 0.43 points to trade at 17.41 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:) added 1.68% or 0.89 points to end at 53.82 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:) was up 1.61% or 1.20 points to 75.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:), which fell 3.65% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.40 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:) declined 3.61% or 5.90 points to end at 157.70 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) was down 3.34% or 12.30 points to 356.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which rose 6.53% to 26.43, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which was up 5.49% to settle at 27.97 and Krones AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 3.50% to close at 127.00.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was down 6.62% to 49.96 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which lost 5.09% to settle at 12.03 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which was down 4.65% to 1.86 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Energiekontor AG (ETR:) which rose 4.21% to 66.80, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 1.53% to settle at 21.18 and Kontron AG (ETR:) which gained 1.17% to close at 20.68.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was down 6.62% to 49.96 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which lost 4.56% to settle at 261.50 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.49% to 87.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 413 to 222 and 32 ended unchanged.

Shares in BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.68% or 0.89 to 53.82. Shares in Krones AG O.N. (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 3.50% or 4.30 to 127.00.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.83% to 14.28 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.01% or 22.85 to $2,279.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.43% or 1.20 to hit $84.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.24 to trade at $88.66 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.51.
