Nasdaq turns red even as Broadcom soars 20%; S&P 500 on track to end week lower

Wall Street on Friday gave up its opening gains to dip lower, though chip and semiconductor stocks got a shot in the arm from a post-earnings jump in Broadcom (AVGO).

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) added nearly 1% immediately after the opening
