Johnson & Johnson’s (NYSE:JNJ) MedTech unit has partnered with chip manufacturer Nvidia (NVDA) to leverage artificial intelligence for surgery through real-time data analysis and broader AI access.
According to the deal, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), which claims to support 75M surgical procedures annually, will use NVIDIA’s (NVDA) AI platform for healthcare.
Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s digital surgery platform with NVIDIA’s (NVDA) backing will allow for real-time analysis and global availability of AI algorithms, the New Brunswick, New Jersey-based healthcare giant said.
“Our deep heritage in healthcare and digital ecosystem in surgery and NVIDIA’s AI platforms hold enormous potential to create a more connected surgical experience.” Worldwide Chairman of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) MedTech, Tim Schmid, remarked.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of NVDA’s annual developer gathering, GTC, which kicked off on Monday in San Jose, CA.
