Retail sales in Japan rose 2.3% Y/Y in January 2024, slowing from an upwardly revised 2.4% gain in December and matching the consensus forecast.
Industrial production declined by 7.5% M/M in January 2024, worse than market forecasts of a 7.3% fall and swinging from a 1.4% growth a month earlier.
Housing starts declined by 7.5% Y/Y in January 2024, much steeper than a 4.0 percent fall in the prior month and compared with market forecasts of a 7.7% plunge.
