Freeport McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) said Tuesday it named current President Kathleen Quirk as its next President and CEO, succeeding Richard Adkerson, effective at the annual shareholders meeting on June 11.
Adkerson, who has served as CEO since 2003, will continue as Chairman.
Quirk joined Freeport (FCX) in 1989 and climbed through the ranks before being named CFO in 2003, becoming President in 2021 and joining the board last year.
“Through her 35‐year career with the company, [Quirk] has broad knowledge of Freeport’s business and operations, its people and culture, and is highly qualified to lead Freeport as CEO,” Lead Independent Director Dusty McCoy said.
