Boeing keeps 737 production capped at 38 a month: CFO (NYSE:BA)

Boeing (NYSE:BA) decided to keep production of its best-selling 737 Max jetliner at fewer than 38 a month, Chief Financial Officer Brian West said on Wednesday.
The planemaker only will accept a fully conforming fuselage, a jet’s main body, at its factory in Washington state from supplier Spirit AeroSystems (SPR), he said at an investor conference.
Boeing (BA) this year has faced greater scrutiny from aviation authorities and customers after a metal panel blew out from a 737 Max 9 flown by Alaska Airlines (ALK). The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has capped output of the 737 until the agency is satisfied that the company has taken steps to address safety issues.
