Avangrid (NYSE:AGR) said Friday it signed a new power purchase agreement with Amazon to source renewable energy from a planned wind farm in Oregon; financial terms were not disclosed.
Avangrid (AGR) said it would build the wind farm in Gilliam County, Oregon, to help Amazon remain on a path to only use renewable energy to power operations by 2025.
The wind farm would have a capacity of 98.4 MW, producing enough energy to power 22,800 homes per year, Avangrid (AGR) said.
Avangrid (AGR), which is part of Spanish electricity company Iberdrola (OTCPK:IBDRY) (OTCPK:IBDSF), owns and operates eight electric and natural gas utilities and a portfolio of renewable energy generation facilities in the U.S.
