- Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime Video is set to exclusively air an NFL playoff game next year, The Wall Street Journal reported.
- The streaming service, which is the home to Thursday Night Football, was offered a game this year, but passed on the opportunity, the news outlet added.
- Comcast’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Peacock streaming service aired a playoff game last month between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the first time an NFL playoff game aired on a streaming service. (The game was also available to watch on the NBC affiliates in the Kansas City and Miami markets).
- Next year’s game is slated to move from Peacock to Amazon as Amazon has a clause in its contract with the NFL that allows it to take the game, the news outlet reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
- Amazon shares finished higher on Friday, gaining 2.7%.
